Plastic Injection Molding FAQ

What is included in your injection molding services?

Our comprehensive service covers the entire production lifecycle: from DFM (Design for Manufacturability) analysis and rapid tooling fabrication to mass production and final assembly. We specialize in high-precision thermoplastic molding for medical, automotive, and consumer industries.

When is injection molding the best choice?

Injection molding is the most cost-effective solution for high-volume manufacturing. While there is an upfront investment for the mold (tooling), the "price per part" drops significantly as volume increases, making it far superior to 3D printing or CNC for runs exceeding 500+ units.

What materials can be molded?

We process a vast range of thermoplastics. This includes commodity resins like PP, PE, and ABS, as well as engineering-grade materials like Polycarbonate (PC), Nylon (PA66), PEEK, and glass-filled composites designed for high structural integrity and heat resistance.

What are the typical lead times for tooling?

Lead times depend on mold complexity and cavitation. Rapid aluminum tooling for prototyping can be ready in 2–3 weeks. Hardened steel production molds (Class 101) typically require 4–8 weeks to manufacture, test, and sample (T1) before full production begins.

What tolerances can you achieve?

Our scientific molding processes allow us to hold extremely tight tolerances, typically ±0.05mm (±0.002") for standard features. For critical dimensions in precision medical or aerospace parts, we can achieve even tighter tolerances depending on the material shrinkage rates.

From Design to Part

1
Submit 3D CAD Data

Upload your STEP or IGES files. Specify your resin requirements, surface finish (SPI standards), and estimated annual volume.

2
DFM & Mold Design

We analyze draft angles, wall thickness, and gate locations to optimize the mold design for cost and quality.

3
Tooling & Sampling (T1)

We machine the mold and run initial samples (T1). You review the physical parts for dimensional approval.

Volume Production

Once approved, we begin full-scale injection molding, followed by quality inspection and shipping.
